Barriss Offee, later known as "the healer" and "wise mother," was a Force-sensitive Mirialan female who fell to the dark side of the Force during the Clone Wars. Initially, she was a Jedi Knight trained under Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, wielding a blue lightsaber and participating in the First Battle of Geonosis. Offee preferred studying ancient Jedi texts over fighting. During her time as a Padawan, she formed a close friendship with Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker's Padawan. Despite their different personalities, they bonded through their shared combat experiences, including the Second Battle of Geonosis.

As the Clone Wars progressed, Offee became disillusioned with the Jedi Order's role in the conflict, feeling they had strayed from their ideals and becoming particularly skeptical of the Jedi Council. Acting on her concerns, she orchestrated a bombing at the Jedi Temple to incite distrust in the Jedi. She allowed Tano to be framed for the bombing, even impersonating former Sith apprentice Asajj Ventress to further incriminate her friend. Ultimately, Anakin Skywalker captured Offee, and she confessed just before Tano was convicted, clearing Tano's name. In front of the tribunal, Offee expressed her disillusionment with the Jedi Order, revealing her corruption by the dark side before being taken away.

During the Imperial Era, Offee was recruited into the Inquisitorius. However, after witnessing their cruelty, she denounced the Inquisitorius and reclaimed her identity as a Jedi, becoming a wandering healer. Eventually, she was hunted down and gravely injured by the Fourth Sister, Lyn Rakish, a former friend from the Jedi Order. Despite this, the Fourth Sister empathized with Offee and sought to aid her thereafter.
